Off-leash areas are a favourite destination for every man and his dog – and we mean that literally.

But do you know where you can take your dog off-leash around Highfields?

Off-Leash Parks

The Toowoomba Regional Council has several designated off-leash areas where your dog (and you) can enjoy the full freedom of time in the great outdoors.

These areas include two parks in Highfields – Michael Park and Harris Park.

Off-Leash Park Rules

Like all off-leash parks, there are several rules you need to follow when enjoying Michael Park or Harris Park with your four-legged friend.

To begin with, your dog needs to wear a collar and identification tag. So if you don’t already have one, it’s important you make this investment before you enjoy the off-leash areas.

Because your dog must not escape from the off-leash area, it’s also important to make sure you’re confident he or she has been adequately trained and is adequately obedient.

As always, the rules require that you remove any faeces your dog leaves behind and female dogs who are “on heat” need to give the park a miss until they’re no longer in season.
