LONG-TIME PALMWOODS RESIDENTS AND SOON-TO-BE DOWNSIZERS, ALANNA AND JOE GALEA, WERE FIRST IN LINE TO SECURE A HOME SITE AT GEMLIFE PALMWOODS ON THE SUNSHINE COAST’S FAMOUSLY PICTURESQUE HINTERLAND.
The couple was in no doubt they wanted to stay in Palmwoods, an area they fell in love with about ten years ago during a chance road-stop on their way to the well-known local tourist spot in the nearby mountains of Maleny.
“It was meant to be. We were driving through, pulled into a cafe for a quick coffee, and after that, our hearts never left Palmwoods,” said Alanna.
When the Galeas first learned about GemLife Palmwoods, they knew it would be a perfect match.
“We wanted to downsize but we wanted to stay in Palmwoods. At GemLife we get to have a beautiful new home, pick the colour-schemes, and the quality is great. No expense is spared, and we are in awe of the quality and the finishings,” she said.
Keen travellers, the couple list the ability to lock-up and leave, together with the security of living in a gated community, as an important part of the future resort’s appeal.
“We want to travel without worrying about the security and maintenance of a big house,” said Joe.
“Palmwoods is a hidden gem – it’s a beautiful place and it’s very friendly. It’s a local joke that if anyone looks sad in Palmwoods, it’s only because they don’t live here,” said Alanna.
“The weather is ideal, and the town is central to the area’s attractions. The beaches are twenty minutes away, and the mountains are ten minutes away,” added Joe.
In addition to high-quality two-bedroom plus multipurpose room homes, the resort will feature a luxury country club with firstclass facilities such as a gym, ten-pin bowling alley, indoor pool and spa, cinema, bar and coffee lounge, as well as an outdoor pool and recreation precinct.
Civil works are currently under way and the first homes are expected to be move-in-ready by late 2021.
